About the Project

A pan-India effort to evaluate and enhance forest soil health through standardized, data-driven practices.

The Forest Soil Health Card (FSHC) project is an initiative by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Dehradun, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. It is a nationwide research-based program designed to assess, monitor, and improve forest soil health across all forest divisions in India.

The FSHC web portal generates Digital Forest Soil Health Cards based on a consistent method to collect soil samples, testing 12 key parameters, and offering forest division-specific recommendations to improve long-term soil health and productivity in forest ecosystems.
